Manage WhatsApp and Broadcast Templates

Message Templates

Message Templates are standardized messages used for WhatsApp Business API notifications and Broadcast Campaigns. WhatsApp requires templates for any business-initiated conversation (outside the 24-hour service window).

Template Categories

  • Marketing: Promotions, offers, and newsletters.
  • Utility: Order updates, account alerts, and OTPs.
  • Authentication: One-time passwords for login.

Creating a Template

  1. Go to Settings > Templates.
  2. Click New Template.
  3. Name: internal name for the template (e.g., order_confirmation).
  4. Category: Select the appropriate category (Marketing/Utility).
  5. Language: Choose the message language.
  6. Content:
    • Header: Text, Image, Video, or Document.
    • Body: The main message text with variables (e.g., {{1}}, {{2}}).
    • Footer: Small text at the bottom (optional).
    • Buttons: Quick Reply or Call-to-Action buttons (Visit Website, Call Phone).

Approval Process

[!IMPORTANT] Meta Review: After submission, Meta reviews the template against their policies.

  • Approved: Ready to send.
  • Rejected: Violates policy. Check the reason and edit.
